She said, “We weren’t looking for love.” However, sometimes love finds you, and it opens your heart. When they met Christian asked Princess to dance. One from New York and the other from New Jersey together they found each other and love found them. Now 5 years later they’re ready to commit to a lifetime together and I got to capture their stunning downtown Chicago engagement photos.
I met Princess and Christian on the Congress Park bridge on Ida B Wells drive. This is one of my favorite places to shoot because of the skyline and nearby gardens. You really get the best of both worlds. We were able to take advantage of both.
We walked slowly over the bridge chatting about the morning, with me capturing them snuggled close together or holding hands. Moments later the skies opened up and showered down on us. It felt for a moment that all time was lost. I didn’t want their gorgeous outfits to be ruined.
We walked quickly towards the rows of trees, and we were able to take refuge under the canopies, and once the rained stopped we captured more of them on the iconic bridge.
Let me tell you it was beautiful. From Princess’ stunning gown to Christians velvet shoes they styled their way through the shoot. The magic of them crossing the bridge in front of the downtown Chicago skyline gave me all the feels. Seeing them in the lush greens below the trees was breathtaking.
They are putting their whole heart into their wedding. It was a pleasure to be able to capture some of the love between them for their engagement photos. Princess and Christian here’s to a beautiful wedding at the Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago, and many years of marriage.
