Wedding on the Chicago River Photos

I’m so excited to share Gretchen and Tom’s wedding on the Chicago River photos at Rivers Restaurant. The day started at the JW Marriott in Chicago. This hotel is one of my favorite locations for getting ready in the West Loop because it has beautiful staircases and it’s just a few short steps to locations the Chicago Board of Trade and the Rookery. Both of those additional locations are such iconic architectural spots that they make the perfect backdrop for photos.

Gretchen started the morning with her girls and close family members and Tom had a similar morning with his guys and family. One of my favorite moments from the morning was when Gretchen opened her letter from Tom. It was such a quiet, authentic moment filled with emotion! Once they were both ready for their wedding day we did their first look on one of the staircases at the JW.

Next we headed to the Chicago Board of Trade since it’s such a short walk from the hotel and minutes from Rivers Restaurant. We were able to take advantage of the beautiful columns of the buildings next to the Board of Trade and then we also took some timeless photos in the middle of street. I never get tired of the classic looks of wedding parties at this amazing spot in the city! After we were done we headed to Rivers for the rest of the celebration!

Gretchen and Tom had a stunning ceremony that was celebrated along the river! It makes for a stunning wedding aisle. Since most of their photos were done before their ceremony, they enjoyed cocktail with their friends and family. We did sneak away to take a few photos on a bridge over the river before I had the privilege of capturing the rest of the joy of their day. There were so many sweet moments during speeches and dances. It was an honor to document so many memories! I hope you enjoy some of my favorite moments and photos!
