Couple Mining
A little weird to say it this way, but rediscovering things that are important to you and your love can be a great way to have an engagement session you adore! Spend time thinking about what’s most important to you as a couple. Are there things that make your relationship important? Are there activities that hold a lot of meaning for you?
Location Scouting
There are so many beautiful spots in the city to choose for an engagement session. I’ve shared many of my ideas for choosing a location here, but here are some quick tips. One thing you can do to make the choice easier is think about things that are important to you guys as a couple. Do you love being outdoors? Maybe we’ll trek up to state park for some photos. If there are places you love to go together, then maybe that’s where you have your session! Just spend time brainstorming what feels right for you!
Outfit Planning
Let me say it here: you don’t need to match perfectly. It looks best when your color palette coordinates, but aren’t the same. As far as your outfits go choose clothes you feel great in! I love when couples dress up, but if that’s not your style don’t do it! Accessories and layers can add visual interest to your outfit, but the key is to feel great in what you choose!
Day of Prep
Many of my brides choose to get their hair and makeup done because they love how it looks best when someone else does it! Whatever you choose to do make sure it’s exactly what you want. Another important idea to prep can be a quick bag to carry any items that you want to take along (e.g. comfy shoes, a blanket to wrap up in, or extra accessories).
