Mackenzie and Jon’s cozy in-home engagement photos really demonstrate how sweet it can be to enjoy your own space for your photos! A sweet fun fact for them is the month of April is very important to them! They had their first day in April. They have birthdays in April. We did their engagement session in April. And they’ll be getting married in April!!
When you choose to have a session in your own home it really brings significance to your session. We took photos in the space they created to enjoy their life together. Mackenzie and Jon filled their home with the things that had meaning for them! It really built an environment that felt true to them!
Since we were in their home we chose to use some of their story to for their images. When they began dating they decided to share some of the books they loved to read with each other so each one could appreciate some favs! For their photos, we decided to have them hold the books they exchanged! It was so fun to see the Harry Potter series be one of my favs because I adored that series when I was younger.
It was such a lovely day we decided to adventure in their neighborhood as well! All the colors from the murals really popped out in the background of their photos together. Mackenzie and Jon often take walks and enjoy the artwork, so it felt natural to spend time exploring with them!
