I had the honor of being a part of this fall and funk Lacuna Loft wedding styled shoot. When Ashley at Ash Best Events and Jessica Levi at asked me to be a part of this project I was excited about the whole concept. They created a whole inspiration based on Earth, Wind, & Fire vibes. The focus was on creating beautiful art while showcasing BIPOC artists!

Fall and Funk Lacuna Loft Wedding Inspiration Brought to Life

Conceptualization of the ceremony site by Ashley and Jessica was brought to life by the stunning florals of Planks & Pistils and the artistry of Flawless Inspirations’ calligraphy. I enjoyed being able to capture our model couple Chelsea and Michael in the funky and artistic backdrop! From the exposed brick to artistic backdrop there was so much natural beauty paired with lovely textures! One of the things I loved about this shoot is it highlights how different elements can be used in more than one location. For example, the ceremony backdrop becomes the background for the sweethearts table. It really great when waste can be prevented and it also saves on cost!

Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was styled and ready for Chelsea and Michael. I was blown away by the creative arrangement and the stunning custom backdrop! The geometric shapes of the backdrop really added to the whole design and the custom made wedding emblem created by Faultless Inspirations really added an elegant touch! When we captured the ceremony, I loved getting to show the tradition of jumping the broom as it’s a tradition I did at my own wedding :)

Wedding Reception with Style

For the Reception Chelsea was fitted in a gorgeous pants suit by Belle Bridal Atelier and danced away to the sounds of Funktastic band! The sweethearts table was added in front of the geometric backdrop and plenty of florals and candles give the table a really romantic feel!

Rooftop Deck with Chicago SkylineViews

An amazing feature at Lacuna Lofts is it’s epic rooftop area! We were able to capture some beautiful wedding portraits that showcased the Chicago skyline as well as Chelsea and Michael! It really was an inspiring day! Hope you enjoy it too!
