On a gorgeous sunny day, I met with Cecilia and Mike to take their fall garden engagement photos! It was a complete joy to explore Cantigny Park Gardens with them! Cecilia and Mike found me because I had photographed their amazing friends Haley and Jake’s wedding! Of course, Cecilia and Mike were just as fun to spend time together. The gardens offer so many different lush and beautiful locations to take pictures! We loved walking through the different areas and taking pictures of Mike and Cecilia just enjoying each other! It’s such a gift to see two people who love each other deeply engage with each other!
They met when their office threw a Holiday party! The moment Mike saw Cecilia he knew he wanted to be with her! Even with how different their lives are, they know they just make sense! Mike makes Cecilia laugh in the most beautiful way! Her whole face lights up!
They got in engaged in Cancun! Time to just relax was long overdue so Cecilia planned a week away! Mike knew it was the perfect time to ask the woman he loved to be his wife! Under the open night sky, on their first night there he proposed! She immediately said yes and then asked to go inside so she could actually see the ring :) They got to spend the rest of their vacation enjoying being newly engaged!
One of the most sentimental parts of their engagement story is the fact that Mike took the time to ask her parents if he could propose. Knowing there was a language barrier he made sure to have Cecilia’s sister available to help! It was incredibly sweet!
