Oh, I could just gush about Rekha and Ken’s literature inspired Chicago wedding reception! They put so much of their heart into this reception from the different novels covering the tables to all of the music, it felt like them! I absolutely love shooting weddings for couples who make the day their own.
It was a blast to be a part of. I got to shoot their intimate wedding ceremony this past summer, so you should definitely check it out ;) Their reception was all about enjoying their friends and family and celebrating their love!
Getting Ready
I got to spend the early afternoon with them while they each got ready to spend the evening with their loved ones. Rekha had a beautiful suite at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza that overlooked the city. We had all the plans in the world to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors for photos with family, but as the clouds rolled in slowly throughout the afternoon Chicago had other plans.
We were able to use the entrance of the Holiday Inn to take their family and bridal portraits. I love that space because of the beautiful clean backdrop!
Patying at the Reception
Let me tell you the speeches were one of my favorite parts (apart from the outfit change ;)! The joyful tears, and heartfelt laughter that each one brought was everything. Some of the best moments often happen during speeches. From Rekha’s dad’s exuberant cheer to the loved filled looks exchanged between Rekha and Ken I adored getting to capture their day!
