I met Katie and Nick for the Honeycomb Chicago engagement photos during the golden hour in late fall. This is when the light is warm and pretty. We definitely got some lovely golden moments, but since it’s Chicago we also got some dreamy soft light when the clouds would roll past the sun. Chicago always does the most ;)
The Honeycomb Engagement Pictures
I absolutely love getting to shoot at the Honeycomb because we get shots of the city as well as some pretty nature paths and boardwalks to walk along. I had the best time moving around the space as they laughed and snuggled together!
Katie and Nick have known each other their whole lives. Being around them gives that ease of two people who know each other deeply and love each other truly! They are one of those magical couples that find each other and know they’re meant for one and another.
Their Engagement Story
While Katie and Nick were in college they went to separate schools, but that didn’t stop them from prioritizing each other. Even with miles between them, they continued their relationship long-distance! Close to when Nick was going to propose Katie had a feeling it was coming soon (I mean I did say they’ve known each other their whole lives right!!!). BUT Nick still surprised her. They traveled downtown for some fun and a stroll past the Christmas Tree and it was there he popped the question with their family nearby!
