It was such an honor to capture Krista and Billy’s Naperville intimate wedding reception! They decided on a smaller wedding to celebrate their love. Krista put so much care into all of the details for their day! There was lots of intention behind everything included. I love being able to photograph intimate weddings because they offer a different view into how to honor a wedding day!
Getting Ready & First Look
The day began at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in downtown Chicago. Krista was able to do all her Bridal Prep there. We were also able to capture some getting ready photos of Billy! It was conveniently located right near our First Look destination! The first look took place at the canopy of trees right next to Ida B Wells Drive! It’s such a beautiful location because the canopy of trees offer cover when it’s a super bright day! This makes sure no one is squinting, but there’s still so much beautiful light. One of the other amazing benefits of this location is that you get the beautiful lush greens of the trees combined with the little peek of the City skyline when you go on the bridge. Since both spots are in the same space we were able to capture a lot of variety for Krista and Billy!
Wedding Reception
While we headed from downtown Chicago out to Naperville it poured rain, but once we got to their reception the sun came out and it was an absolutely beautiful evening! The reception was held in the backyard of Krista’s family home. A beautiful tent was placed in the back to host their guests. They sat at long tables with flowers lining the center. The square of guests surrounding the dance floor and it gave a great view of the dance floor or any toasts that were given. Even with an intimate gathering once the band played the dance floor filled up. It was fun to capture all of the sweet moments.
