I had the best time taking these South Pond Nature Walk engagement photos for Sophia and Alex. Even with the rain coming down it was such a lovely experience. They work so well together and so obviously love each other that it was a joy to capture each moment!
South Pond Nature Walk Engagement Photos
We started the session near Cafe Brauer on the walkway next to the pond. It is such a lovely view of the city on sunny days but today we got to bask in the views of all the lush greens surrounding the paths. With the clouds covering the city it created a more focused backdrop for their love! It was a lovely late Spring evening so the colors were lush and bold. Capturing their obvious joy for each other was so fun!
Their Story
Alex and Sophia met in Law School at Depaul. After graduation and once all their family had left Alex invited Sophia out for a celebratory dinner for just the two of them. As they walked across the Kinzie Street Bridge (one of her favorite parts of the city…sigh) Alex proposed. She of course said yes!
Different Views
Many people who come to the South Pond decide to take photos in front of the Honeycomb, and while it’s a popular location it’s great to have a unique view also! Alex and Sophia opted to keep their session different and more true to them. It was lovely exploring other parts of the Nature walk area to take photos with them! We found a lovely little spot with trees surrounding them all around as well as beautiful quiet archway.
