So many of my couples believe they don’t really need an engagement session when we first talk, but they’re always really happy they have it.
Here are some reasons why you need an engagement session with your wedding photographer!

Camera Ready
Often times people feel uncomfortable when they first get in front of the camera. Being able to take engagement photos with me is one of the best ways to feel ready to have someone following you around on your wedding day!
Many of the grooms I get to work with and every once in while a bride feels shy about having their pictures taken. However, all it takes is a little time with their love and little direction from me and they’re completely comfy. It’s always so much better to figure out how awesome it is in front of my camera on an engagement session than to wait until the wedding day ;)
Get to Know Your Photographer
Getting your picture taken is one of the keys to getting to know your photographer. The more you’re able to get in front of my camera the more you’ll understand the flow of how I’ll guide you on your wedding day!
It takes so much pressure off you to realize it’s easy and fun. This way you know you have nothing to worry about. We’ll be fab working together!
I Get to Know You
Getting to spend time with my couples prior to the wedding day is one of my favorite parts of an engagement session. I get to see how you are as a couple. How to guide you for what feels most like you! It’s so nice to be able to do it before the wedding day!
Wedding Ready Photos
There are so many reasons couples use their engagement photos. I’ve seen it used as part of the wedding decor. Some couples decide to make a guest book with their wedding photos so they have beautiful images of them and loving messages from their guests. Also, many couples love to use their photos for their wedding website!
Fun as a Couple
Part of the fun of the engagement session is you get to have fun just focusing on the two you. Yes, of course, their moments where I’m guiding you so you look fantastic, but mostly you get to snuggle and love on each other.
AND the added bonus so many of my couples decide to have a date night or brunch after so they get even more quality time with their boo :)
Capture This Moment in Your Relationship
The final reason to have an engagement session is to capture this time in your relationship. You’re only a fiancé for a short time in your overall relationship. It’s pretty awesome to have photos to commemorate who you are as a couple before you become husband and wife!
